Then I remember finally getting into mods years later, and eventually figuring out how to make my own stuff and had a blast. Then I remember playing zt2's demos, and finally getting zookeeper collection, and have so many found memories of playing as a child. I remember being introduced to the first game, and buying complete collection with funds I got from a yard sale. Zoo Tycoon 2 and this community has been such a large part of my life at this point I cannot say that it hasn't had major impacts on me.
I found an interesting article that was written earlier this year exploring how wildlife conservation has been presented in games ( ) in sort of a preliminary search which I found quite interesting, and has me sort of interested in putting together a YouTube video on the franchise, wildlife conservation, and what sort of impact zoo tycoon has had. I guess in a way it is me also trying to understand my time in the community as well, and in this very strange year I have been had trouble doing what I probably would be doing I have been playing zt2 again a little, and just overthinking about my relationship to the game. This has got me thinking about the games overall legacy, primarily its impact on the world and wildlife conservation. So Next year Zoo Tycoon as a franchise will be 20 years old.
